Home Prep Guide: Get Ready for Photo/Video Day!
Professional photos and video are essential tools to market your home and make a lasting first impression. To capture stunning, magazine worthy images, a little preparation goes a long way. Our goal is to help buyers see themselves living there and your prep helps make that possible!
Please complete the checklist below before the photographer arrives. Sessions are scheduled back-to-back, so having everything ready ahead of time ensures a smooth and efficient shoot.
✅ General Guidelines
All lights ON in every room
All blinds OPEN to let in natural light
Turn OFF ceiling fans, TVs, and computer screens
Hide all visible cords (TVs, lamps, chargers, etc.)
Remove all people and pets from the property during the shoot
Remove pet items like crates, bowls, beds, and litter boxes
🧼 Clean & Declutter
Clean all windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
Wipe down stainless steel appliances and countertops
Dust all visible surfaces
Make all beds neatly
Remove magnets, papers, and clutter from the refrigerator (including the top)
Hide trash cans and cleaning supplies
Clear all bathroom counters (toothbrushes, products, etc.)
Clear shower and tub areas of bottles and personal items
Declutter kitchen and bathroom countertops and sinks
🌿 Exterior Touches (if applicable)
Mow the lawn and trim any overgrown hedges
Tidy up porches and patios
Add fresh flowers or simple outdoor décor if possible
Remove debris and make sure walkways are clear
Please keep in mind, these sessions are scheduled back to back and as long as above list is completed prior to photographers arrival it will be smooth process.
